Vaccinations & Pet Microchips in Townsville

Microchipping Your Pet

A microchip is a tiny device that’s carefully implanted under your pet’s skin. They feature identification numbers that can be used to identify pets and reunite them with their families if they become lost or stolen. Pet owners in Townsville are required to have their dogs and cats microchipped before they are 12 weeks old.

At Hammett Street Veterinary Surgery, we can microchip your furry friend, providing peace of mind knowing you have the greatest opportunity of finding them should they be lost and handed over to an animal shelter. The microchip will also be with your cat or dog for life, so unlike collars or ID tags, you won’t have to worry about it being removed if theft occurs.
